Privacy Policy

FILRUP LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the FILRUP mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Location data: We access your device's GPS location to automatically detect the nearest gas station name and address when you log a fuel purchase. Location is only accessed while you are actively using the app.
  • Voice data: When you use the voice input feature, your spoken words are processed by Apple's Speech Recognition service to convert your fuel purchase statement into text. We do not store your voice recordings.
  • Fuel log data: Fuel purchase entries you create (amount, fuel type, station name, date, gallons, payment method) are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.
  • Vehicle information: Vehicle names you add are stored locally on your device.
  • Mileage and trip data: Trips and mileage entries you create are stored locally on your device.
  • Document photos: Photos of vehicle documents (such as your driver's license, registration, and insurance cards) that you choose to add are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded anywhere.
  • Subscription status: If you subscribe to FILRUP Premium, your purchase is processed by Apple or Google. We receive subscription status information (such as whether your subscription is active) but never your payment details.

2How We Use Your Information

  • Location is used solely to identify nearby gas stations via the Google Places API.
  • Voice input is processed to extract fuel purchase and trip details (amount, fuel type, gallons, miles).
  • Fuel log and mileage data is used to display your spending history, statistics, and reports within the app.
  • Document photos are used only to display your vehicle documents to you within the app.
  • Subscription status is used to provide access to FILRUP Premium features.
  • We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

3Third-Party Services

FILRUP uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Places API: Used to identify nearby gas stations. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple Speech Recognition: Used to process voice input on iOS. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic Claude API: Used to parse fuel purchase and trip details from your spoken statements. Your transcript is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare Workers: Our backend is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Requests are processed securely. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play: FILRUP Premium subscriptions and free trials are processed and billed by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment information. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives purchase receipt information from Apple or Google, but never your fuel logs, location, document photos, or other personal data. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

4Data Storage

  • All fuel log entries, mileage records, vehicle data, and document photos are stored locally on your device only.
  • We do not operate a database or cloud storage for your personal records.
  • Deleting the app will permanently remove all locally stored data, including document photos.

5Permissions We Request

  • Location (While Using App): To detect nearby gas stations automatically.
  • Microphone: To capture your voice when logging fuel purchases or trips by speaking.
  • Speech Recognition: To convert your spoken entries into text for processing.
  • Camera: To photograph your vehicle documents, such as your driver's license, registration, and insurance cards. Photos are stored only on your device.
  • Photo Library: To let you attach existing photos of vehicle documents. Photos are stored only on your device.
  • Notifications: To deliver local reminders you set for registration, insurance, emissions, and oil changes. Reminders are scheduled on your device; we do not send push notifications from a server.
  • Face ID / Biometric Authentication: Used to lock and unlock your document vault. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system (Apple Face ID/Touch ID or Android biometrics). We never receive, store, or transmit your biometric data.

6Subscriptions

  • FILRUP offers two auto-renewing monthly subscriptions, each with a 7-day free trial: FILRUP Premium and FILRUP Family (which supports Family Sharing). Both are billed through your Apple or Google account.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's subscription settings.
  • All billing is handled by Apple or Google; we never receive your payment card details.

7Children's Privacy

FILRUP is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. API keys are stored securely as encrypted secrets on our Cloudflare backend and are never exposed to the client app.

9Your Rights

  • You can delete all your data at any time by deleting the app.
  • You can revoke location, microphone, speech recognition, camera, and photo library permissions at any time through your device settings.
  • You can contact us to request information about data we may hold.

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
